Trestle began as a custom typeface for the digital magazine Est. To complement the minimal and contemporary designs that are featured, Trestle needed to balance a neutrality and timeless design sensibility, whilst being optimised for and legible on screen.
Working in collaboration with Matter of Sorts, Trestle was designed through a process of testing in layout and on the screen. The result is a workhorse type family with just enough personality that works at all sizes, allowing it to come forward as a feature or equally sit quietly in a supporting role.
